Frequently Asked Questions

Should I have my "occasional" tooth ache checked?

Yes. Sensitivity (whether to hot or cold), an occasional "zinging" sensation to pressure or just a dull ache can indicate a dental problem that may need treatment. Preventive treatment is usually less costly and less painful than emergency treatment, so don’t wait until that discomfort becomes an emergency. Also we recommend that you don’t wait until your next cleaning to have that tooth checked, call our office today and we will schedule a limited appointment with one of our dentists.

Can I have my teeth cleaned at my first appointment?

For children under the age of 15, yes, a cleaning can be scheduled at the first visit. For children over 15 and for adults, a thorough examination is scheduled first so the dentist can determine what type of cleaning and how much time is needed with the hygienist. If you are an adult patient that has seen your previous dentist regularly every six months, please have your dental records forwarded to our office for review by Dr. Jody, at which time you may qualify for a comprehensive examination and cleaning the same day.

Do you accept my insurance?

Our office will gladly file your dental claim with any dental insurance carrier. Morse & Doyle, DDS, PA does not participate with any PPO or preferred dental networks. What this means is that you should always anticipate and be prepared to pay your copayments, deductibles, or any balance that your insurance company does not pay. Please be prepared to pay your estimated co-payment at the time of service, this includes cleaning appointments. Although insurance companies quote 100% of cleanings, they pay 100% of their fee schedule, not necessarily our fees and cleanings do apply to your calendar year maximum.

Can I have dental treatment after my recent medical procedure?

It depends on the medical procedure. It is best to check with the surgeon or physician that is treating you, especially, if you have had a surgical procedure since your last dental appointment. Some medical conditions or surgeries require that you take an antibiotic prior to your dental appointment to prevent potentially serious infections.

What if I need to change my appointment?

We understand that there can be an occasional need to change your scheduled dental appointment; however, we do need to be notified 24 hours in advance of the appointment so that we may offer that opportunity to another patient.
